Blue Moneywort (Lindernia grandiflora)

Plant Description

Blue Moneywort is a delightful, low growing ground cover that forms a carpet at your feet with lovely green, heart shaped foliage and tiny lavender-blue flowers all season long (or all year long depending on location). Blue Moneywort is enchanting at the edge of a pond, as a ground cover or in a container. This delightful, low growing ground cover has a creeping habitat and prefers moist soil. Blue Moneywort also looks great when planted on the banks of stream beds and creek beds as long as their roots are in moist soil. Native to the Southeast, Blue Moneywort prefers full sun to part shade, in extreme heat, must plant in part shade.

If planting in containers for the pond, plant in loam soil and place pots on the shelf of the pond with roots only in water.
