Crab Claw Lotus is a small, perky little lotus in shades of pink, yellow and cream. An exquisite specimen, it has interesting seed heads and is multi-petaled.
Store your lotus tuber in the fridge until ready to plant. Do not float. Once the weather has warmed and all danger of frost has passed, plant your lotus in a wide, shallow container using heavy loam soil or aquatic planting medium. Do not cover the growth tips. Place your container in full sun on your patio or in a shallow area of your pond. Make sure you have 2 - 4 inches of water over soil in your container. In a couple of weeks you will notice coin leaves on the surface of the water.
DO NOT FERTILIZE UNTIL YOU HAVE AERIAL LEAVES. After the coin leaves send out aerial leaves, you may fertilize with Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs. Fertilize every three weeks for strong plants and best bloom.
