Miniature Cattails (Europa-Typha Minima)
Miniature Cattails (Europa-Typha Minima) is a miniature cattail with dainty, blue-green, slender needle-like leaves and reeds and sports 1 inch catkins. A non-aggressive variety of cattail that grows 10 - 18 inches tall in mud or up to one (1) inch of water above the roots. A charming and delightful addition to your pond or water feature. This adorable, little plant adds authenticity to your small tub or container garden or small pond. Pretty, little, 1 inch catkins bloom late summer or early fall.

Plant your Miniature Cattails in containers using loam soil and place container in the tub or pond with no more than 1 inch of water above the roots of the plant. It is important to note that this plant will NOT tolerate more than an inch of water over the roots of the plant and will NOT tolerate being planted in rocks, nor will it tolerate stones being placed on top of the soil. Plant in full sun to part shade. Hardy in zones 3 - 10.
*Leave the container with your Miniature Cattails in the pond to over winter. DO NOT LOWER THEM DEEPER IN THE POND! Miniature Cattails should come back the following year.
