Plant Description

Obedient Plant, also known as 'Obedient Flower' and 'False Dragonhead'  is a charming plant with small, shiny, green, toothed leaves and lavender-pink, tubular blooms on flower spikes that bloom in late summer until frost. Obedient Plant has a clumping, spreading habitat and grows 1 - 3 feet tall. Great as a cut flower, nice for borders or bog areas. Obedient Plant is also great for naturalizing! Obedient Plant got its name from being able to turn the heads of the  flowers in any direction. Upright habitat with lavender-pink spikes of flowers with green foliage. Obedient Plant is a perennial pond plant and  native to North America. When planting in the pond, only the roots may be in the water. Obedient Plant is quite cold tolerant and hardy in zones 3 - 10

Planting Instructions

Plant your Obedient Plant in moist, loam soil in full sun to part shade in the bog area of your pond or in your terrestrial garden. If placing in the pond, only the roots of the plant may be in water. Obedient Plant has an upright habitat and spreads with clumping habitat, central taproot and rhizomes. Obedient Plant is a perennial and grows best in evenly moist, rich, loam soil. Obedient Plant may be grown in containers using loam soil and placed in the pond with only their roots in water. Hardy in zones 3 - 10
