Perry's Giant Sunburst Lotus has MEGA blooms that will blow you away!!! These sunny-yellow blooms are pure sunshine on this amazing lotus specimen from hybridizer, Perry D. Slocum. Perry's Giant Sunburst Lotus has dazzling-yellow flowers that look amazing with the dark green lotus leaves and will look fantastic in any area of your water feature!
Grow this remarkable lotus in a 24 - 48 inch wide pot or wider, using loam soil. Put 5 - 6 inches of loam soil in your container, dig a trench across the top of the soil and gently place your lotus tuber in the trench, making sure to keep the growth tips exposed. Gently add 4 inches of water above the soil and place your container in full sun on your deck, patio or shallow area of your pond. If the water becomes cloudy, gently pour out the cloudy water and add fresh water. In a week or so, you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water.
DO NOT fertilize until you have aerial leaves growing up and out of the water. Fertilize every three weeks with slow release fertilizer during the growing/blooming season.
*Planting your lotus in a wide container, making sure your lotus has 8 - 12 hours of sunlight daily and a slow release fertilizer will ensure more blooms on your lotus plant!
