Plant your Pink Sunburst Canna in a wide container using loam soil. Place the container in the pond with up to 1 inch of water above the soil in the container. Canna is a great plant to use in containers in shallow areas of your pond as the roots of the canna help to filter your pond water and take up the extra nutrients, helping to eliminate algae growth. Make sure your container has holes in the bottom so that your plant roots are exposed to oxygen in the water. Pink Sunburst Canna may also be planted in your terrestrial garden. Make sure to keep your soil evenly moist, especially during dry spells. Lift canna bulbs after the first frost in the north. Store indoors in a cool, dry, dark location to overwinter. Replant in the spring after all danger of frost has passed.
Fabric Planting Containers are perfect for planting your canna and placing in the pond!
