Red River Lotus is a brilliant-red beauty! The long, wide outer petals look as though an artist painted each one with a brush-stroke. Inner petals are ruffled, which give this unique lotus textural interest. The flower is drenched in vivid color and this lotus makes an excellent addition to any water garden setting, deck or patio!
Plant in wide, shallow container using heavy loam soil keeping the growth tips exposed. Add 2 - 4 inches of water over the soil and place in full sun outdoors. Lotus need 8 - 12 hours of sunlight daily to grow and bloom.
DO NOT fertilize until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves, fertilize monthly during the growing/blooming season. We use, recommend and sell Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs. We recommend them for best bloom, vigorous growth and ease of use. Simply press the tabs into the soil near the roots of your lotus plant.
