Royal Pickerel Rush (Pontederia dilatata) is a robust plant with cobalt-blue, bottle brush blooms all season long! The marvelous, shiny green leaves on Royal Pickerel Rush are long and lance shaped. Royal Pickerel Rush is very easy to grow in pots in your pond, pant in two gallon container with heavy loam soil and place container in water. Plants will grow 3 - 4 feet tall in full sun to part shade. The blooms on Royal Pickerel Rush attract honey bees and butterflies and is considered a mainstay in the garden pond!

OR, Plant your Royal Pickerel Rush in containers using loam soil and place containers in the pond with 3 - 5 inches of water above the roots of the Royal Pickerel Rush, in full sun to part shade. Fertilize once each month during the growing season with a slow release fertilizer like Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs.
