Space Lotus 36 is just OUT OF THIS WORLD! China sent this lotus specimen into outer space to see what effect no gravity had on the seeds. This a very large lotus growing 5' tall. The flowers are quite large and beautiful as well. The seed pods are large and beautiful too! You will need lots of space for this lotus.
Plant in an extra-large, wide, deep container using heavy loam soil. Keep the growth tips of the tuber exposed when planting. Add 4 - 6 inches of water above soil and place in full sun outdoors. Lotus need 8 - 12 hours of sunlight daily to grow and bloom. You may grow this specimen in an area of your pond or in containers as a stand alone feature on your deck or patio. Make sure it is placed in full sun and where wind will not knock it over--as it is quite tall.
Do not fertilize until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Fertilize monthly during the growing/blooming season. We use, sell and recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs for vigorous growth and best bloom!
