Variegated Cattails (Typha Latifolia Variegata)

Plant Description

Variegated Cattails have striking, bright green and white striped leaves and grow 4 - 5 feet tall. A nice addition to your pond adding height and interesting foliage to your waterscape. Variegated Cattails are not as aggressive as the Common Cattail.

Height     Grow 4 - 5 feet tall

Width       12 - 18 inch spread

Sunlight Requirements   Full sun to part shade

Moisture Requirements   Moist soil or shallow water with up to 12 inches of water above the roots

Blooms     Blooms mid to late summer and blooms are followed by brown catkins in the fall

Zone        Hardy in zones 3 - 10

Planting Instructions

Plant your Variegated Cattails in large, deep containers using loam soil and place in your pond. You may want to place rocks in the bottom of your planting container to keep container from blowing over in high winds. Variegated Cattails grow well in up to 12 inches of standing water, in full sun to part shade and  are hardy in zones 3 - 10
